Goodbye Socrates

I wanted to share a quick note to let you know we had to put our cat Socrates to sleep today. He was in the late stages of kidney failure, so this was the humane thing to do.

He was my pet for over 15 years, which is longer than I’ve known my wife, so I’ll sure miss the little guy.

Fortunately Olivia is too little to be upset about his absence. We told her that he went “bye bye” and that he’s not sick anymore. She seemed happy about that, so that’s good.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose a pet when you have children old enough to understand they’re gone…
