Daddy Movie Review: Wall-E

The family rented Wall-E last night. We tend to enjoy movies made by Disney’s Pixar, so we’ve been wanting to see this one for awhile. We were also hoping Olivia would enjoy watching it, which is parent code for “we hope she sits still for 90 minutes.” :D

Wall-E did not disappoint. While it isn’t Pixar’s best movie, Shan and I both thought it was cute and enjoyable.

Unfortunately, Olivia got bored about 15 minutes into the movie. Unless we’re watching Dora the Explorer, she tends to lose interest quickly. It was worth the try I guess, but we ended up having to pause the movie and finish it after Olivia went to bed.

I don’t want to give away any of the plot, but I will say that Wall-E probably had the least amount of dialog of any movie I’ve ever watched. Yet they brilliantly portrayed the storyline regardless of not having a lot of words.

Since the movie didn’t engage Olivia, I’m not sure it’s going to be that great for 2 year olds. However older children should enjoy the movie. It’s also not bad for parents. We enjoyed it, and if you enjoyed watching previous Pixar movies, you’ll probably like Wall-E too.
