That said, it doesn't hurt and might help slightly, just don't stress about it. As long as you're getting the proper amount of daily protein, you'll be fine.
2. The size of weights you use is totally dependent on you. Also, you might find that you need heavier weights as you get stronger. My advice is to get a set of "standard" weights to start with, but don't spend too much money at first. Remember, you don't have to become ripped the first week! Start the program and see how it goes with the weights you have. If they're too light or too heavy, then get more of the proper weight, and just do your best with the ones you have in the meantime.

1. 1: When mixing the protein with carbs to make a recovery drink how much protein do you use? I've heard people say to mix it with apple juice but 1 cup of apple juice has around 25g of carbs so I would have to mix 1 scoop of protein with 4 cups of apple juice? Or do I just take a quarter of a scoop of protein?
2: What size wieghts do you need? I'm sure everyone is different but for an average guy what sizes will I need at least to get started? Maybe if that's too vague you could help explain what excersizes I will be using the wieghts for and I can figure out how many pounds I need.
Thanks, I love all of the info on your site. I've been on dozens of P90X review sites the last week as I prepare to start and yours has been the most helpful.

A couple questions:

1: When mixing the protein with carbs to make a recovery drink how much protein do you use? I don't really make shakes, but have used protein powder in milk or orange juice, etc. Sometimes I'll blend it with fresh fruit like bananas or strawberries (or both). The main reason I've used protein powder isn't to lose weight, but rather help in the muscle building process.

<a

If you dont work out often you can start without weights and do the movements without weights. As for recovery drink that all depends on you and your diet. I work out alot, I am in the army, and I am also a vegan and my diet often has alot of carbs, well at times, from all the nuts, seeds, and grains. If you are like really overweight I would not even worry about the shakes right now. Maybe after losing alot of weight and completing it, then go back and redo the 90 days only add some shakes. I use a shake that is home made from fortified chocolate soymilk with almonds. My goal is also to get ripped and toned and not bulky cause I run alot to. Best Luck to whoever gets on this p90x. nice read dadtrek.

it all depends on what you want to put into it.
