My Little Vikings Fan

Ever since Olivia was born, I’ve been busy turning her into a Minnesota Vikings football fan. Never mind the season they’re having this year, she’s my daughter, and I will do everything in my power to convince her to love the Vikes!

She was about 6 months old when she got to experience her first full season of NFL football. I’d dress her in the pink Vikings onesie I got at WalMart, and then we’d watch the game together. Well okay, she would sleep, or roll around, or play with her toys, but she was still in the room with me.

One thing that was different for me as a new dad… I had to learn not to scream so loud when the Vikes would score because it would scare her and make her cry. At least it didn’t happen too often. ;-)

This year is her third season of Vikings football. I have to admit that she still isn’t all that interested in watching the games, but I guess I can’t blame her. With the season the Vikes are having so far this year, it’s hard for anyone to be interested.

Still… I did teach her to say “Packers yucky!” Which is important, since our daycare provider is a big Green Bay Packers fan.

A dad has to have standards after all… :-P
