It’s not easy being a dad nowadays. It’s nearly impossible to be a super dad. However if there’s one thing every kid needs in their life, it’s for their dad to be their super hero.

I’d like you to meet the family:

Jon
Hey… how’s it going? I’m the dad and the author of this blog. I’m in my 30’s… am married with one daughter… and have two cats. One of the cats pees on the carpet. More on this later, but suffice to say, I’m a normal guy with a  normal life and normal problems.

Besides writing this blog, I make a living as a Systems Administrator in the IT sector. I enjoy watching TV… especially sports. I don’t have an HDTV yet, but it’s on my agenda.

I also enjoy playing the new Nintendo Wii that I recently purchased. I figure it’s a good thing for the whole family to enjoy. So my daughter is too little to play, but she enjoys watching!

Shan
My beautiful wife for the past 11 years. Shan doesn’t enjoy watching sports nearly as much as I do.

Olivia
We sometimes call her “Liv,” and she’s our 2 year old daughter. She’s sweet and laid back, but full of energy and enthusiasm. Olivia was a great baby who didn’t cry to much and slept through the night by the time she was 3 months old. I guess God knew what we could (and couldn’t) handle.

Socrates & Sammie
These are our two cats. Socrates is 15 years old and has started to pee on the carpet in the family room. Sammie is the same age as Olivia (while it’s a bad idea to bring home your first baby and a new kitten, that’s exactly what we did). Sammie’s not as smart as Socrates, but she makes up for it with her stamina for getting into things she shouldn’t.
