I‘ve finished my first week of P90X, and this is no slouch workout. It definitely delivers on its promise to be extreme and hardcore! It’s so intense that during some of the workouts, I’ve burned close to 1,000 calories!
In order to reach that level of intensity, you’ll need more than the DVD’s. Below is [...]
If you read my previous post on exercising, you know that my doctor gave me an ultimatum: either start exercising or go on cholesterol meds.
So I decided to try the exercise route first! However I wasn’t sure exactly where to start.
Well shortly after I figured out that I was going to start exercising, I was [...]
This weekend I was completely focused on playing a Nintendo Wii game, when Olivia suddenly came running out of the bathroom screaming…
“Daddy! I went poopy! I went potty! I want a jellybean!”
There she was, completely naked from the waist down, wearing one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen. She was so proud of herself! [...]
I just finished reading a post at the DadJam blog about how to reduce the cost of having kids. This got me thinking about an article I published at EzineArticles back in 2007 about how to save money on your new baby, which was well received. The information is still useful, so I figure it’s [...]
Last week I visited my doctor for a physical, which included a check of my cholesterol levels. When I got the results back, my doc gave me an ultimatum:
Either start exercising, or go on cholesterol meds.
I’m only 35 years old, and while I don’t have insane crazy cholesterol levels, apparently my good cholesterol is too [...]

There are many descriptive terms one could use for these not so helpful strangers, but [...]
After reading a post at Zen Habit, I decided to write my version of the post as it pertains to being a dad. Specifically, how to be the best dad ever in 2009.
We’ve been teaching Olivia for over a year to pray every night before she goes to bed. Sometimes its a struggle—mostly because she knows that bedtime prayer means its bedtime—but overall she seems to enjoy praying.
“Now I lay me down to sleep?” She knows that one by heart. Then after we say amen to that [...]
As a dad, it’s important to occasionally do something really special for the family. Doing special things as a family helps build memories for your children, and it has the added bonus of being romantic for your wife.
Trust me, everyone loves special family times!
So with this post, I’d like to share some of my ideas [...]
This news story makes me sick to my stomach.
A father in Idaho was taking his two kids to their moms place, when his pickup truck got stuck in a snow drift. So the dad told the kids to walk the rest of the way to their mother’s place. The problem is she lived 10 miles [...]
